A man charged with murder after fatal shooting in Commerce City
A man has been charged with murder after police found him hiding near the scene of a fatal shooting in Commerce City last week. Fabian Benitez, 30, was charged with first-degree murder by the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, according to a news release.
According to police reports, Benitez was discovered hiding near East 62nd Avenue and Jasmine Court, where a person was found shot to death in a car early Sunday morning. The victim’s identity has not been released at this time.
Benitez is currently being held at the Adams County Detention Facility. His next court appearance is scheduled to take place on Friday morning.
