HealthTech Hub Africa (HTHA) is a pioneering healthtech accelerator program based in Kigali, Rwanda, that aims to revolutionize healthcare across Africa. Established by the Novartis Foundation and supported by the Global Fund and the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, HTHA is committed to addressing health challenges through innovative solutions integrated into public health systems with the collaboration of government stakeholders.
Implemented by Jhpiego and Villgro Africa, the 2025 HealthTech Hub Africa Accelerator Program offers a unique platform for entrepreneurs to develop sustainable businesses while making a significant impact on healthcare. The program provides startups with validation of their solutions, accelerated growth opportunities, and access to a network of partners and contributors within the healthtech sector and public health systems.
Who Should Apply?
The 2025 cohort is looking for ventures from all over Africa that offer innovative solutions, including hardware, software, data analytics, AI technologies, biotech, and more. The ideal businesses are those designed for collaboration with local and national governments to address pressing health challenges or support the digital transformation of public health systems.
Applicants will be evaluated based on their potential to address challenges within the four thematic focus areas of the Hub. Criteria include product excellence, team strength, market fit, and a sustainable, scalable model that integrates with public health systems.
Thematic Areas:
– Virtual Health: Proactive and preventive health management
– Virtual Care: Diagnosis, management, and treatment of health conditions
– Climate and Health: Addressing health challenges driven by climate change
– Data-Driven Decision-Making for Health Systems
Eligibility Criteria:
– Must be registered in Africa
– Team should have at least two full-time members, with one founder being an African national or resident
– Align with one or more of the four HealthTech Hub Africa thematic categories
– Post-revenue or seed stage
– Operational for at least one year
– Working or planning to collaborate with the public health sector
