Enyimba Football Club Parts Ways with Head Coach Yemi Olanrewaju
Enyimba Football Club has officially announced the departure of head coach Yemi Olanrewaju from the team. The decision comes after a series of disappointing performances by the club in both the CAF Confederation Cup and the Nigeria Premier Football League.
In a statement released on the club’s official X account, Enyimba expressed their gratitude to Olanrewaju for his service and dedication to the team. The club acknowledged the challenges they have faced this season, particularly their struggles to secure wins in the CAF Confederation Cup, where they have only managed to secure one point out of a possible nine.
Additionally, Enyimba has been facing difficulties in the Nigeria Premier Football League, currently sitting in 11th place on the league table with 23 points from 15 games. The team’s lackluster performance under Olanrewaju’s leadership has prompted the decision to part ways with the head coach.
Olanrewaju took on the role of head coach at Enyimba following the appointment of Finidi George as the head coach of the Super Eagles. Despite his efforts, the club has struggled to achieve the desired results on the field, leading to his departure.
