President Isaias Afwerki held a meeting with Ambassador Xue Bing, China’s Special Envoy to the Horn of Africa, at Adi Halo this morning. The discussions centered on bilateral relations, regional issues concerning Eritrea and neighboring countries, and global developments. They also touched upon the implementation of development programs outlined at the China-Africa Summit.

Ambassador Xue reiterated China’s dedication to promoting peace and stability in the Horn of Africa and supporting Eritrea’s development initiatives in line with the government’s priorities. He highlighted the alignment of China and Eritrea’s perspectives on regional and international matters discussed during the meeting. Additionally, Ambassador Xue expressed China’s willingness to collaborate with countries in the Horn of Africa on both development and security matters.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Osman Saleh, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Li Xiang, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Eritrea. It is noteworthy that Ambassador Xue Bing had previously visited Eritrea in April of the same year.

This fruitful discussion showcases the strong partnership between Eritrea and China, emphasizing mutual cooperation and shared goals for the region’s progress and stability. Stay tuned for more updates on this important diplomatic engagement.
