Yanga Salvage a Late Point Against TP Mazembe in CAF Champions League

In a thrilling Group A CAF Champions League match against TP Mazembe, Young Africans (Yanga) displayed resilience and determination as they fought back to secure a crucial late point.

From the beginning of the game, Yanga found themselves trailing against the hosts. The breakthrough came when Cheick Fofana, who had come on as a substitute in the 35th minute, found the back of the net in the 41st minute. Mazembe seemed to be on course for a victory as they held the lead.

However, Yanga refused to accept defeat. In a dramatic turn of events, Prince Dube emerged as the hero for the Tanzanian side. In the dying seconds of the game, the ball found its way to Dube, who calmly slotted it past Mazembe’s goalkeeper to level the score at 1-1. The visiting fans erupted in celebration as Yanga salvaged a point from the jaws of defeat.

The draw against Mazembe marked Yanga’s first point in the group standings. Despite the positive result, they still find themselves at the bottom of Group A after three games played. On the other hand, TP Mazembe, with a total of two points, remains in third place behind leaders Al Hilal and second-placed MC Alger.

The match was a testament to Yanga’s fighting spirit and never-say-die attitude. The team’s determination to secure a result in a tough away fixture against Mazembe showcased their potential in the CAF Champions League. As the competition progresses, Yanga will be looking to build on this performance and climb up the group standings.
