Tributes Pour in for Late Ukhozi FM Presenter Nondumiso Shazi

Following the tragic passing of Ukhozi FM presenter Nondumiso Shazi, heartfelt tributes continue to pour in for the talented radio personality. Shazi, who was just 33 years old, passed away at Addington Hospital in Durban after reportedly battling headaches and tremors for a month.

Shazi had joined Ukhozi FM in 2023 and had been presenting the popular Sunday School show, Vumelani Abantwana Bezekimi, which aired on Sundays. Her contribution to the station and her role as a Sunday School Teacher on the show were highly valued by her colleagues and listeners.

Mmoni Seapolelo, Head of Communications at the SABC, expressed deep sadness at Shazi’s passing, highlighting the meaningful role she played in fulfilling the SABC’s public service mandate through her programming. Seapolelo emphasized that Shazi’s impact would be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Shazi’s untimely death adds to a series of losses suffered by Ukhozi FM this year, including notable presenters and producers such as Bonga Ndaba, Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule, Bheka “Beekay” Mchunu, and Irvin Sihlophe. The industry and fans alike have been mourning the loss of these talented individuals who have left a lasting impact on the radio community.

As tributes continue to pour in for Nondumiso Shazi, her legacy as a dedicated and talented presenter on Ukhozi FM will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of listening to her on the airwaves. Her passion for her work and her commitment to serving her audience will be dearly missed.
