President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt recently met with Mr. Børge Brende, President of the World Economic Forum, and his delegation. The meeting, attended by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and other key ministers, highlighted Egypt’s development efforts and key projects in infrastructure, industry, and agriculture sectors. President El-Sisi emphasized the significant investment opportunities available in these projects.

Mr. Brende praised Egypt’s progress in economic reforms and attracting investments, expressing the Forum’s interest in showcasing Egypt’s successful experience in this area. The President stressed the importance of cooperation and foreign private sector investment in priority sectors such as industry, sustainable energy, telecommunications, digital transformation, Artificial Intelligence, and transportation.

The discussion also touched on the importance of achieving peace and stability in the Middle East, particularly addressing the conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon. President El-Sisi emphasized the need for an immediate ceasefire and the initiation of a political process leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. This, he stated, is crucial for restoring stability in the region and fostering development and prosperity for the people.

The meeting underscored the risks and consequences of further escalation in the region, highlighting the potential impact on the global economic situation. Both leaders agreed on the urgency of addressing these issues and working towards a peaceful resolution for the benefit of all parties involved.

This important dialogue between President El-Sisi and Mr. Brende showcases Egypt’s commitment to economic development, peace, and stability in the region. The country’s efforts to attract investments and implement reforms are crucial steps towards sustainable growth and prosperity. With continued cooperation and support from international partners, Egypt aims to further enhance its position as a key player in the global economy.
