In contrast to the Biden administration’s “woke diplomacy,” Trump’s administration may prioritize evangelical Christian interests and scale back pro-LGBT policies, particularly in countries like Uganda.
During his first term, Trump exhibited a dismissive attitude towards African nations. However, his administration also laid the groundwork for countering China’s growing influence on the continent. Trump’s advisors believe that his leadership style and emphasis on business will position the United States to outperform its competitors in Africa.
