Looks like someone took a wrong turn at Flavortown.

According to reports, two trucks loaded with 24,240 bottles of Santo Tequila, the label co-owned by celebrity chef Guy Fieri and former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar, were stolen in Laredo, Texas. The stolen tequila, valued at $1 million, took 39 months to produce, making it a significant loss for the brand.

In an interview with PEOPLE.com, Fieri expressed his disappointment over the heist, stating that it took four years of hard work to produce the stolen booze. The theft occurred sometime between November 9 and November 10, catching the partners off guard.

Fieri and Hagar were particularly disheartened by the timing of the theft, as the holiday season is typically Santo’s busiest time. Fieri speculated that the heist may have been an attempt to disrupt the momentum the brand has been gaining in the market.

The theft of two trucks carrying the tequila raised concerns for Fieri, who questioned the level of risk involved in such a daring act. Laredo police, Los Angeles’ Cargo Criminal Apprehension Team, and CargoNet are currently investigating the incident, with Fieri offering a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the recovery of the stolen tequila.

Despite the setback, Fieri remains optimistic about Santo’s future, stating that the brand will be hard to find for the foreseeable future. He described the situation as “like a movie,” expressing disbelief at the unexpected turn of events.

The heist has certainly left a bitter taste in the mouths of Fieri, Hagar, and Santo Tequila fans, but they remain hopeful that the stolen tequila will be recovered and justice served.
