Former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has shown his unwavering support for the family of the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba as they prepare for the musician’s one-week observance. A delegation led by Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu of the Ekuona Royal Family of Nsuta, along with Madam Afia Akoto, former Deputy CEO of MASLOC, visited Dr. Bawumia on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, to express their gratitude for his generosity.

During the meeting, Dr. Bawumia expressed his condolences to the family and reassured them of his support during this difficult time. He emphasized the importance of honoring Daddy Lumba’s legacy and preserving his contributions to the Ghanaian music industry.

The delegation also discussed plans for the upcoming one-week observance, where friends, family, and fans will come together to celebrate Daddy Lumba’s life and music. Dr. Bawumia pledged to assist in any way he can to ensure that the event is a fitting tribute to the late musician.

The support from Dr. Bawumia and other well-wishers has been a source of comfort for the Lumba family as they navigate the grieving process. Their generosity and kindness have helped to ease the burden of planning the observance and have shown the family that they are not alone in their loss.

As preparations for the one-week observance continue, the Lumba family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support from the community. They are touched by the gestures of kindness and generosity, which serve as a reminder of Daddy Lumba’s impact on the lives of so many people.
