Lil Nas X, the chart-topping artist known for hits like “Old Town Road,” has entered a plea of not guilty to four felony charges following a bizarre incident in Los Angeles. The incident has sparked conversations about mental health, celebrity status, and public behavior.

Reports indicate that the charges filed by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office include three counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer. After being arrested, the 26-year-old was taken to the hospital for a suspected overdose before being placed in custody. He is currently awaiting arraignment.

A judge has set bail at $75,000 for Lil Nas X and has required him to attend Narcotics Anonymous meetings as part of his release conditions. His legal team, led by attorney Christy O’Connor, has denied any allegations of drug use, calling the incident an anomaly in the artist’s life.

The strange episode unfolded in the early hours of the morning when Lil Nas X was spotted wearing only white underwear, cowboy boots, and an orange traffic cone on his head. Videos captured him dancing and singing a Nicki Minaj verse from Kanye West’s song “Monster.” When police intervened, he reportedly charged at them and injured several officers. He was subsequently taken into custody.

The charges against Lil Nas X carry significant consequences, with each felony count potentially resulting in up to three years in prison and fines of up to $10,000. The timing of the arrest comes after the artist had been candid about his struggles with mental health, expressing a desire for authenticity, freedom, and self-acceptance in his work.

As the case progresses, Lil Nas X is scheduled to appear in court for a formal arraignment. The incident has raised important questions about the intersection of fame, mental health, and personal accountability.
