Legendary actor Michael Madsen, known for his iconic roles in Quentin Tarantino’s films such as “Reservoir Dogs” and “Kill Bill,” has passed away at the age of 67. According to the New York Daily News, Madsen was found unresponsive in his home in Malibu, California, and was pronounced dead on Thursday morning. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Watch Commander stated that Madsen is believed to have died of natural causes, with cardiac arrest being the apparent cause.

With a career spanning over 300 credits since the early 1980s, Madsen made a lasting impact on Hollywood, despite many of his roles being in low budget films. However, it was his portrayal of the sadistic Mr. Blonde in “Reservoir Dogs” that truly solidified his place in cinematic history. His chilling torture scene set to the tune of Stealers Wheel’s “Stuck in the Middle with You” remains one of the most memorable moments in film history.

Madsen would go on to collaborate with Tarantino on multiple projects, including the “Kill Bill” films and “The Hateful Eight.” His managers and publicist released a statement expressing Madsen’s excitement for his upcoming independent film projects, such as “Resurrection Road,” “Concessions,” and “Cookbook for Southern Housewives.” They described him as one of Hollywood’s most iconic actors who will be greatly missed by many.

Reflecting on his career during a handprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre in 2020, Madsen spoke about his humble beginnings and the uncertainty he faced when he first arrived in Hollywood. Despite not knowing what the future held for him, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to pursue his passion for acting and the luck that brought him success in the industry.
