As we gear up for an exciting Week 5 of the 2025/26 NBS Bank National Division League (NDL), all eyes are on the top three teams who will be in action on Saturday. Leading the race for the Golden Boot is Rahim Mtondera from Mitundu Baptist, with an impressive 6 goals in four matches.

Hot on his heels are Matorino Clement (Chilumba Barracks), Rashid Chiromo (FOMO FC), and Abel Gerald (Red Lions), each with 3 goals to their name. George Mboma from Chintheche United and Mavuto Henry Kamunga from Red Lions have also made their mark with two goal assists each.

In terms of team performance, Mitundu Baptist is leading the pack with 9 goals scored, followed closely by Chintheche United with 6 goals. Ntaja United, Namitete Zitha, Red Lions, and FOMO FC are all tied at 5 goals apiece.

However, discipline on the field is also a key factor to consider. Seven clubs have accumulated a significant number of cautions, with Jenda United leading the pack with 9 yellow cards. Mitundu Baptist, Chintheche United, Ndirande Stars, Namitete Zitha, Mchinji Villa, and Red Lions are also in the mix with multiple yellow cards to their name.

In this weekend’s fixtures, the top three teams — Mitundu Baptist, Red Lions, and Namitete Zitha — will be looking to maintain their dominance. Mitundi Baptist currently leads the pack based on goal difference, having scored 9 goals and conceded 2. Red Lions and Namitete Zitha are not far behind with 5 goals each.

Namitete Zitha, fresh off a 2-1 victory against Jenda United, will face off against 4th-placed Baka City at Mchinji Community Centre. Red Lions, coming off a 1-0 win against Bangwe All Stars, will host FOMO FC at Balaka Stadium. Mitundu Baptist, looking to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Baka, will take on 10th-placed Chilumba Barracks at home.

Other intriguing matchups include Ndirande Stars hosting Bangwe All Stars at Mpira Stadium, with both teams eager to climb up the standings. With so much at stake in Week 5, fans can expect an action-packed weekend of football in the NBS Bank NDL 2025.
