Frasca Food and Wine Wins Outstanding Restaurant at James Beard Foundation Awards
Frasca Food and Wine, located at 1738 Pearl St. in Boulder, was awarded the prestigious title of Outstanding Restaurant in the country at the James Beard Foundation awards ceremony held in Chicago on Monday evening. This marks the fourth Beard win for Frasca, which has consistently been recognized for its excellence in the culinary world.
Co-founder Bobby Stuckey, a master sommelier, was visibly elated as he accepted the award on stage, surrounded by his restaurant partners. In his acceptance speech, Stuckey expressed gratitude to the restaurant’s guests, employees, and executive chef Ian Palazzola, who recently welcomed a new addition to his family. Stuckey emphasized the beauty of the restaurant industry and the significance of the James Beard Foundation awards in celebrating its achievements.
In addition to winning Outstanding Restaurant, Frasca has previously been recognized by the James Beard Foundation for outstanding service in 2019, outstanding wine program in 2013, and best chef in the Southwest for Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson in 2008.
While Frasca celebrated a well-deserved victory, other Colorado restaurants and chefs were also nominated in various categories but did not secure wins. Alma Fonda Fina, Carolyn Nugent and Alen Ramos of Poulette Bakeshop, Penelope Wong of Yuan Wonton, and McLain Hedges and Mary Allison Wright of Yacht Club were among the nominees who were acknowledged for their culinary talents.
Earlier this year, Bobby Stuckey was honored with the Julia Child Award presented by the Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts, further solidifying his reputation as a prominent figure in the culinary world.
