Bayer Leverkusen Places €50 Million Valuation on Victor Okoh Boniface Amid Transfer Rumors
Bundesliga outfit Bayer 04 Leverkusen, a former league champion, has reportedly set a price tag of €50 million on Super Eagles forward Victor Okoh Boniface, amidst swirling speculations about his potential departure.
The 24-year-old had an outstanding debut season with Die Werkself, scoring 21 goals and providing nine assists in 34 appearances across all competitions. Playing under the guidance of manager Xabi Alonso, he played a key role in Leverkusen’s league title and DFB Pokal success.
However, Boniface’s form has dipped this season due to injuries, managing only 11 goals in 27 appearances. With the upcoming summer transfer window, rumors suggest that Leverkusen is contemplating selling the Nigerian forward.
Reports from Sport Bild indicate that the German club has lowered their initial asking price for Boniface, indicating their willingness to offload him. Earlier in the winter transfer window, Boniface was on the verge of a €70 million move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr. However, the deal collapsed as Al-Nassr opted to sign John Duran instead.
Following the failed transfer, Boniface has struggled for playing time, often being benched and scoring just twice in the latter part of the season.
