Barcelona’s interest in signing Premier League stars Marcus Rashford and Luis Diaz has been the subject of much speculation recently. Manager Hansi Flick has described both players as “fantastic” and hinted at the possibility of bringing them to the Catalan club.

Despite the impressive form of Raphinha, Barcelona is reportedly looking to bolster their attacking options on the wing. Flick, speaking ahead of Barça’s final La Liga fixture against Athletic Bilbao, praised Rashford and Diaz, calling them great players and expressing his admiration for them.

Sporting director Deco also added fuel to the transfer talk by expressing his admiration for both players in a recent interview on Spanish radio. Rashford, who struggled for playing time at Manchester United and spent the second half of the season on loan at Aston Villa, could be a potential target for Barcelona. On the other hand, Diaz has been a key player for Liverpool and would command a significant fee of around €80 million.

However, Barcelona’s financial constraints have made it challenging for the club to make big-money signings. The club has had to deal with registration issues due to economic restrictions and legal action to ensure players like Dani Olmo and Pau Victor were cleared to play this season.

There have also been rumors of winger Ansu Fati potentially leaving Barcelona for Monaco after limited playing time under Flick. The coach emphasized that the decision ultimately lies with the player and that he is open to discussing Fati’s future with him.

Flick, who recently signed a contract extension until 2027 after leading Barcelona to a domestic treble this season, acknowledged that the road ahead may be more challenging. He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to improve and mentioned the coaching staff’s dedication to providing the players with the necessary tools for success.

As Barcelona looks to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season, the potential signings of Rashford and Diaz could provide the attacking firepower needed to compete at the highest level. The club’s ambitions to continue their success will require strategic planning and careful consideration of the financial implications of any new signings.
