In a recent interview with Billboard, Grammy-winning singer Tems opened up about her decision to leave her job as a digital marketer in January 2018 to pursue a career in music.
According to Tems, she felt a strong sense of divine purpose that led her to make the life-changing decision. She expressed that she felt confined by her job and believed that music was her true calling.

Reflecting on her decision to leave her job, Tems shared, “I quit my digital marketing job because it got to a point where I couldn’t take anymore. It was really dawning on me that it was now or never. I was just putting it off until I developed faith that God would see me through no matter where I go.”
She continued, “I quit my job in January 2018, and I released ‘Mr Rebel’ six or seven months after leaving my job. Spiritually, I knew that digital marketing wasn’t my path, and I needed to make a change immediately. It felt like a matter of life or death. It was a pivotal moment that could either make or break my destiny, and I had to make a decision. I chose to quit, and it turned out to be the right choice.”
