Karmelo Anthony, the high schooler accused of killing Austin Metcalf at a track meet earlier this month, has been forced to evacuate his Texas home due to repeated instances of harassment, according to his representatives.

The Next Generation Action Network, which has been assisting Anthony in his murder case since his arrest on April 2, stated on Monday that the 17-year-old is now in an undisclosed location after he and his family received death threats, continued harassment, and physical intimidation.

NGAN officials shared videos and pictures showing some of the disturbances the family has had to endure following the teen’s arrest. Some of the videos allegedly depict pizza delivery drivers showing up at the Anthonys’ front door with orders they did not place. Another video shows a man approaching their door, walking away, and appearing to take photos of their house’s facade.

Additionally, NGAN officials circulated a picture of a Metcalf obituary that they claim was recently mailed to the Anthonys’ home. NGAN president Dominique Alexander expressed his outrage, stating, “It is both heartbreaking and infuriating to see the depths of hate and bigotry still alive and well in our society. No family should have to live under siege simply because they are demanding their constitutional rights.”

“We will not be silent, and we will not back down,” Alexander continued. “We are committed to doing whatever is necessary to protect this family and to ensure that justice is pursued without intimidation or fear.”

Anthony was released from jail on April 14 after a judge lowered his bond from $1,000,000 to $250,000. Since his release, he has not issued a public statement. However, his family urged the public to respect their privacy during this challenging time as Anthony’s legal case unfolds.

The situation surrounding Karmelo Anthony highlights the importance of addressing hate and discrimination in society and ensuring that individuals are able to seek justice without fear of intimidation or harassment.
