Inter Milan secured a spot in the Champions League semi-finals after a thrilling 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich at the San Siro. The Italians managed to defeat Bayern 4-3 on aggregate, setting up a showdown with Barcelona in the next round. This victory puts Simone Inzaghi’s team on track to potentially replicate their 2010 success when they won the treble.

The match between Inter Milan and Bayern Munich was a tense affair, with both teams giving their all to secure a spot in the semi-finals. Bayern started strong, with Yann Sommer making a crucial save early on to deny Thomas Mueller. Inter’s defense held firm, with Alessandro Bastoni making a crucial interception to prevent a goalscoring opportunity for Bayern.

As the first half progressed, both teams had chances to score, but it was Harry Kane who broke the deadlock for Bayern early in the second half. However, Inter responded quickly, with Lautaro Martinez equalizing from a corner kick. Just six minutes later, Martinez scored again to put Inter ahead on aggregate.

Bayern fought back valiantly, with Benjamin Pavard scoring to level the tie once again. The match took another twist when Eric Dier’s header found the back of the net to give Bayern the lead. With just 14 minutes left on the clock, Inter pushed for an equalizer, and Sommer made a crucial save to deny Mueller in the dying moments of the game.

Ultimately, Inter held on for a historic victory, becoming the first team to defeat Bayern Munich at home in the Champions League. The Italians will now face Barcelona in the semi-finals, with the chance to continue their quest for European glory. The match was a true spectacle of football, showcasing the talent and determination of both teams.
