Pope Francis expressed his gratitude to the medical team who saved his life during a recent hospital stay for double pneumonia. The 88-year-old pontiff, who recently spent 38 days at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital, met with about 70 doctors and staff members to thank them for their service.

In a soft and raspy voice, Pope Francis thanked the medical team for their care and dedication during his hospitalization. He commended them for their hard work and encouraged them to continue their excellent service. Despite his recent health crisis, the pope did not require oxygen during the meeting, showing signs of gradual recovery.

Following his discharge from the hospital, Pope Francis has been advised by his medical team to take two months of rest to allow his body to fully heal. Despite this recommendation, the pope has started to make more public appearances, showcasing his resilience and determination to fulfill his duties.

The Vatican is gearing up for the busy holiday season, with several religious celebrations scheduled in the upcoming days, including Easter, the most important Christian holiday. While it is unclear how much the pope will participate in these events, senior cardinals have been delegated to lead the celebrations in his absence.

As Pope Francis continues his recovery journey, his presence and leadership remain essential to the Catholic community. His recent health scare has highlighted the importance of self-care and the dedication of medical professionals in providing life-saving treatment. The pope’s message of gratitude serves as a reminder of the impact of compassionate care and the resilience of the human spirit.
