Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that midfielder Thomas Partey may miss the crucial Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid due to a new injury concern. Partey, who scored in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw against Brentford, had to be substituted early after feeling discomfort. The Ghanaian international has been an integral part of Arsenal’s midfield since returning to full fitness, making his potential absence a significant blow for the team.

Arteta stated to reporters, “We didn’t expect Thomas to have any problems, but he felt something, so we took him off to avoid any risks. Right now, we don’t know exactly what the issue is – I’ve not spoken to the medical team yet. They will examine him properly and let us know.”

With Partey’s availability hanging in the balance, Arsenal also have concerns over the fitness of defender Ben White, who is uncertain for the match. Furthermore, Jorginho has already been ruled out after sustaining a chest injury in the recent Premier League fixture against Brentford.

Despite holding a three-goal advantage going into the second leg in Madrid, Arteta is aware of Real Madrid’s formidable record in Europe and is keen to have all key players fit and ready for the encounter.

In the midst of these injury worries, Arsenal fans will be hoping for positive news regarding Partey’s condition as they look to secure a spot in the Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2009. The team will be eagerly awaiting the results of further medical tests to determine the midfielder’s availability for the crucial match at the Santiago Bernabeu.
