Widebot, a promising AI startup based in Egypt, has recently secured a staggering $3 million in a pre-Series A funding round. This significant investment will be instrumental in further advancing its groundbreaking Arabic large language model (LLM). Originally established in Cairo, Widebot has now relocated its headquarters to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, signaling a strategic move to expand its operations in the region.

The core focus of Widebot lies in the development of “AQL Mind,” a cutting-edge generative AI model specially tailored for the Arabic language. AQL Mind possesses the remarkable ability to comprehend a wide array of Arabic dialects and accents, making it exceptionally versatile and adaptable for diverse contexts and applications.

The recent funding round was spearheaded by Keheilan Asset Management II, with strong backing from prominent Saudi investment firm Wafra. Additionally, Enza Capital, DisrupTech Ventures, LoftyInc Capital, Den VC, and SparkLabs Ventures also participated in the funding, underscoring the industry’s growing interest in AI solutions catering to the Arabic-speaking market.

Mohammed Nabil, the CEO and co-founder of Widebot, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, emphasizing that AQL Mind will enable the company to deliver precise, secure, and personalized AI experiences to Saudi government entities and businesses. This strategic partnership not only signifies a significant milestone for Widebot but also highlights the increasing demand for tech innovation and economic growth in the region.

The successful funding round underscores the growing recognition and support for AI solutions tailored to the Arabic language, reflecting a broader commitment to technological advancement and innovation in the Middle East. As Widebot continues to push boundaries and revolutionize the AI landscape, the future looks promising for the company and the region as a whole.
