Oppo recently unveiled its latest Reno 13 series, showcasing a range of smartphones packed with advanced artificial intelligence (AI) features. The launch event took place in a garden party setting in Randburg, just days before the Mobile World Congress (MWC), where more AI innovations in the smartphone industry are expected to be showcased.

In a market saturated with AI-enabled devices, Oppo faces tough competition from other brands offering similar features. Liam Fourie, the general manager at Oppo South Africa, mentioned that the company has already established a significant market share in the country, with 1.2 million Oppo users. However, they continue to compete against industry giants like Samsung, Apple, and Huawei.

The Reno 13 series boasts a customised MediaTek Dimensity 8350 platform, a 5,600mAh battery, and 80W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge for extended usage and rapid recharging. Additionally, all models in the series come with an IP66/IP68/IP69 rating for water and dust resistance, offering exceptional protection against moisture and particulates.

One standout feature of the Reno 13 series is the “Underwater Photography Mode,” allowing users to take photos underwater with independent color tuning for distortion-free shots. The phones also feature an AI Editor with intelligent enhancements like AI Clarity Enhancer, AI Unblur, and AI Reflection Remover for improving image quality.

Furthermore, the Oppo Reno 13 devices can seamlessly share photos across Android and iOS devices with a new share button, breaking boundaries between different platforms. The Oppo Reno13 5G is currently available in South Africa with a starting price of R18,999, while the Reno13 F is set to be released in March for R14,999.

With its innovative AI features and competitive pricing, Oppo’s Reno 13 series aims to cater to tech-savvy consumers looking for cutting-edge technology in their smartphones. As the smartphone industry continues to evolve, Oppo remains committed to pushing the boundaries of what is possible with AI-enabled devices.
