Mark Cuban says he’s not running for president in 2028

Mark Cuban, the well-known billionaire entrepreneur and television personality, recently put an end to rumors that he would be running for President in 2028. Despite being a vocal critic of Donald Trump’s policies, Cuban made it clear at the Principles First convention, a gathering of disenchanted conservatives, that he has no intention of entering the White House race.

When asked about his political ambitions at the convention, Cuban adamantly stated, “Hell no. It’s not going to happen.” However, he did humorously suggest that if people were to write him in as a candidate, he might reconsider. Cuban, who is also a minority owner of the Dallas Mavericks, has previously flirted with the idea of running for President, exploring an Independent bid in 2020 before ultimately throwing his support behind Joe Biden.

Despite his decision not to run for office, Cuban has been an active figure in politics, serving as a surrogate for Vice President Kamala Harris during her presidential campaign. He has been critical of the Democratic Party’s messaging strategy, suggesting that they could learn a thing or two from Trump’s ability to sell his ideas to the public.

Cuban believes that Trump prioritizes public relations over actual policy implementation, and he doubts that the former President will fulfill all of his campaign promises. He argues that Democrats need to move beyond simply criticizing Trump and focus on presenting a compelling alternative vision to the American people.

In terms of healthcare, Cuban jokingly mentioned his new venture, the Cost Plus drug company, saying, “No, I don’t want to be President. I’d rather mess up health care.” Despite his lighthearted remarks, Cuban remains an influential figure in both the business and political worlds, using his platform to advocate for change and challenge the status quo.

Overall, while Mark Cuban may not be throwing his hat into the ring for the 2028 Presidential race, his voice and perspective will continue to shape the political landscape in the years to come. Whether it’s through his business ventures, television appearances, or public statements, Cuban remains a force to be reckoned with in the realm of politics and beyond.
