After days of inactivity, Asante Kotoko has finally returned to training following their protest and threats to boycott the Ghana Premier League. The atmosphere at the Adako Jachie training ground was somber yet determined as the players and technical team gathered to honor their late fan, Francis Yaw Frimpong.

Head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum addressed the team, emphasizing the importance of dedicating their efforts to honor Frimpong’s memory. The players, visibly affected by the loss of their dedicated fan, listened attentively as Ogum spoke of the need to channel their grief into a united effort on the field.

“It will be difficult to forget what happened. It will be difficult,” Ogum’s voice was steady, yet filled with emotion. “But then, the only way to honor him is to make sure we train well to win games to make his soul happy. Let’s all come together and make sure that we work very hard to get the results. That’s the most important thing.”

Ogum reminded the team that every training session was not just preparation for the next match, but a way to pay tribute to a man who had shown unwavering support for the club. The players nodded in agreement, understanding the significance of their training sessions in honoring Frimpong’s legacy.

In light of their recent challenges, Asante Kotoko has requested a postponement of their FA Cup match this weekend to allow them ample time to prepare competitively. This decision demonstrates the team’s commitment to regrouping and focusing on their upcoming matches with renewed determination.

As the players continue to train and prepare for their future games, they do so with a sense of purpose and unity in honoring the memory of Francis Yaw Frimpong. The team’s return to training signifies not only a recommitment to their sport but also a tribute to a dedicated fan who will always hold a special place in the hearts of Asante Kotoko.
