Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tourism - Foreign Affairs Department, Republic of Seychelles

The Ambassador-designate of the Kingdom of Denmark to the Republic of Seychelles, H.E. Mr. Stephan Schønemann, met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Mr Sylvestre Radegonde, to discuss various key issues on Monday 3rd February 2025 at Maison Queau de Quinssy.

During the meeting, maritime security, climate change, tourism, and air connectivity were the main topics of discussion between the two diplomats.

Ambassador-designate Schønemann emphasized the importance of maritime security for Denmark, being a seafaring nation and home to one of the world’s largest shipping companies, Maersk. He also proposed enhancing collaboration to increase visitor arrivals from Denmark, with a focus on improving air connectivity.

Minister Radegonde sought the Kingdom of Denmark’s assistance in promoting the Multidimensional Vulnerability Index in international forums.

Ambassador-designate Schønemann assured continued support from the Kingdom of Denmark, either directly or through the European Union, in various areas beneficial to Seychelles.

The Ambassador-designate is scheduled to present his Letters of Credence to President Wavel Ramkalawan at State House on Tuesday 4th February 2025.
