Princeton in Africa Celebrates 25 Years of Impactful Work

Princeton in Africa is pleased to announce its 25th Anniversary Gala, set to take place on Wednesday, April 23rd at the Mandarin Oriental in New York City. For a quarter of a century, Princeton in Africa has been dedicated to nurturing young leaders committed to the advancement of Africa. The organization connects passionate and skilled individuals with impactful organizations in fields such as education, healthcare, technology, agriculture, and more. Its yearlong fellowship program is open to recent graduates from U.S. or African universities, as well as citizens of any African country.

The gala will honor the individuals, organizations, and communities that have contributed to Princeton in Africa’s success over the past 25 years. The event will also recognize two exceptional honorees: Meg Whitman, former U.S. Ambassador to Kenya, and Gbenga Oyebode, co-founder of the renowned African law firm, Aluko & Oyebode. Mary Maker, South Sudanese Refugee Education Activist and UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies.

Executive Director of Princeton in Africa, Damilola Akinyele Wolfgarten, shared, “This event is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate 25 years of commitment, service, and leadership in Africa. We are excited to honor our distinguished guests and showcase our mission and network of alumni and host organizations. The gala will support our efforts to expand our programming and engage more young leaders and partners.”

As the leading provider of post-graduate fellowships in Africa, Princeton in Africa has placed 750 Fellows with 130 organizations in 37 countries. To learn more about the organization, visit www.princetoninafrica.org.
