Real Madrid put on a dominant display as they secured a convincing 3-0 victory against Brest at Stade du Roudourou in France. Despite the impressive win, Los Blancos fell short of securing direct qualification, which means they will now have to navigate through the playoffs to advance further in the Champions League.

The first half saw Madrid take control of the game, with Rodrygo opening the scoring in the 27th minute. After his initial header was saved by Brest goalkeeper Marco Bizot, the Brazilian forward made no mistake with a brilliant solo run down the left, evading defenders before slotting the ball into the net.

While Madrid enjoyed early possession, Brest looked dangerous on the counterattack and created some threatening moments. Pereira Lage tested Thibaut Courtois with a well-struck free kick, while Camara and Mounié also had attempts on goal. Brest came closest to equalizing when Balde’s volley narrowly missed the target in the 37th minute.

After the break, Brest thought they had leveled the score through Ajorque and Camara, but the goal was disallowed for offside after a VAR review. Madrid capitalized on this opportunity and doubled their lead with a composed finish from Jude Bellingham, who converted Vázquez’s pass into an open net.

Rodrygo completed his brace late in the game, reacting quickest to score from the rebound after Bizot had saved Mbappé’s powerful shot. Despite Brest’s attacking efforts and Courtois making five key saves, they were unable to find a way past the Madrid defense.

In the end, Real Madrid comfortably saw out the game with a 3-0 victory. However, their path in the Champions League now includes navigating through the playoffs to secure a spot in the next round. The win against Brest was a solid performance, but Los Blancos will need to maintain their form and focus as they aim to progress in the competition.
