Nigeria Seeks Partnership with World Economic Forum for African Atlantic Gas Pipeline Project

Nigeria has expressed its interest in collaborating with the World Economic Forum (WEF) on the African Atlantic Gas Pipeline (AAGP) initiative. The country’s vice president, Kashim Shettima, made this announcement during a meeting with WEF President Børge Brende in Davos, highlighting the potential benefits of connecting Nigeria to Morocco, other African nations, and Europe through the pipeline.

Shettima emphasized that the AAGP aims to improve energy security and stimulate economic growth in the region. He noted the strategic significance of the project in addressing Europe’s energy challenges and meeting the increasing global demand for energy. The vice president also mentioned the opportunity for West African countries to participate in the pipeline system, with discussions underway to explore underwater routes for mutual advantages.

Aside from the pipeline project, Shettima underscored the economic reforms implemented in Abuja under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu. He argued that these reforms have positioned Nigeria on a trajectory of growth and development, paving the way for increased investment and prosperity in the country.
