Denver International Airport Experiences Flight Delays Due to Snowstorm
Denver International Airport faced significant delays on Saturday morning, with at least 204 flights being affected by a winter storm brought on by a polar vortex. The snow and bitter cold weather conditions caused disruptions in air travel, impacting various airlines operating out of the airport.
According to flight tracking service FlightAware, United Airlines bore the brunt of the delays, with 101 flights experiencing interruptions. SkyWest and Southwest Airlines followed with 54 and 33 delayed flights, respectively. Other airlines such as AeroMéxico, Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta, Frontier, Jazz, and Key Lime Air also reported a smaller number of delays. Fortunately, no cancellations were reported at this time.
The inclement weather not only affected air travel but also had an impact on ground transportation in Colorado, with snow and ice making roadways slippery. The National Weather Service issued warnings for hazardous driving conditions, urging caution for motorists navigating the wintry conditions.
