The highly anticipated 2025 FUFA Women’s Cup final is just around the corner, with Amus College WFC set to take on Kawempe Muslim LFC in a battle for glory. The match is scheduled to take place at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo on Saturday, 28th June, with kick-off at 3:00 PM. In a bid to promote women’s football, FUFA has decided to offer free entrance to all fans, ensuring a packed stadium for the grand finale.

What makes this year’s final even more exciting is the fact that both Amus College and Kawempe Muslim are vying for their first-ever FUFA Women’s Cup title. This adds an extra layer of intensity and significance to the match, as both teams are eager to etch their names in history by lifting the coveted trophy.

The history of the FUFA Women’s Cup has been marked by unpredictability, with five different champions being crowned since its inception in 2017. With neither Amus nor Kawempe having won the title before, Saturday’s final guarantees a new winner, continuing the tournament’s tradition of showcasing emerging powerhouses in Ugandan women’s football.

Road to the Final:

Amus College WFC – The Surprise Package
Hailing from Bukedea, Amus College has been the surprise package of this year’s tournament. Their journey to the final has been nothing short of remarkable, starting with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Isra Soccer Academy in the Round of 32. A walkover against Asubo Ladies in the next round and a thrilling 3-2 win against Wakiso Hill WFC in the quarters set the stage for their impressive run. In the semifinals, they stunned 2023 champions Uganda Martyrs Lubaga with a 4-2 aggregate victory, led by the standout performance of promising talent Opisa Shalyne.

Their journey began with a comfortable 2-0 win over Royal Dreamers WFC, followed by a narrow 1-0 victory against 2019 winners Makerere University in the Round of 16. The quarterfinals saw them edge out defending champions She Corporate FC 2-1 in extra time, before sealing their spot in the final with a 3-1 aggregate victory over St Noa Girls SS in the semifinals, thanks to a spectacular goal by forward Agnes Nabukenya.

Previous Winners:
2017 – Olila High School WFC
2018 – UCU Lady Cardinals
2019 – Makerere University WFC
2023 – Uganda Martyrs Lubaga
2024 – She Corporate FC

As the stage is set for the 2025 FUFA Women’s Cup final, all eyes will be on Amus College and Kawempe Muslim as they battle it out for glory.
