The Year of Hate continues, as Yung Miami and Joe Budden become the next pair of media personalities to air their grievances with each other in a very public — and very petty — manner.
During an episode of “The Joe Budden Podcast” last week — on which hip-hop legend LL Cool J was a guest — Budden unboxed a gold plaque from his 2003 hit single, “Pump It Up,” the most popular record in his catalog. The plaque signifies that “Pump it Up” sold 500,000 units, 21 years after its 2003 release.
While the clip of him unboxing the plaque did not in any way refer to City Girls rapper Yung Miami, she felt the need to respond to the clip with several laughing emojis, essentially making fun of him.
Budden wasted no time responding to Miami, issuing a response on the next episode of his podcast: “I want to be clear, I like Yung Miami. I do. I want to be honest here. And I think that she is a pretty good content creator. The thing about laughter, I think that she will soon realize is, it’s also a luxury… So while I’m happy Caresha is able to laugh because she’s had a stressful year, I am a little surprised that she has found enough time to laugh at anything.”
He continued, “I want to keep this professional and on the music. If Complex were to do a list of where all the female rappers rate, Caresha, you would be last on the list. You would be drop dead last on that list. Every female out there is wiping you down right now… Caresha was the very last person I expected to do this. Caresha, may you not only be dropped from your label right now, but you are not allowed to put music out. There is nothing happening.”

Although Yung Miami has yet to respond, LL Cool J has come to the defense of Budden, saying during a quick run-in with TMZ on Wednesday, “I mean, what can you say? Some people never go gold.
When asked if going gold is an accomplishment artists should be proud of, LL answered, “Of course it is. It’s amazing. You have artists that don’t go diamond until posthumously. It’s beautiful for him. I’m happy for Joe.”
Let’s see if Yung Miami claps back in the meantime.
