Champa Street will be closed between Speer Boulevard and 14th Street starting Friday so construction crews can realign lanes that were shifted for work on the Colorado Convention Center.
The street will be closed starting at midnight Friday until 11:59 p.m. Monday, Denver city officials said in a news release.
Drivers and cyclists should use detours on 14th Street and Glenarm Place while pedestrians should use Arapahoe Street and 14th Street, according to the city.
Message boards will give drivers, cyclists and pedestrians advance notice of the detours.
The lanes were shifted in spring 2021 to make room for construction cranes for the convention center rooftop expansion project, which includes a new 80,000-square-foot ballroom, terrace and other spaces.
Two lanes of Lincoln Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues are also closed for an emergency repair on a small section of the bridge over Cherry Creek, according to the city. The two far-right travel lanes are closed.
