Westbound Interstate 70 is closed near Loveland Ski Area, and eastbound I-70 is closed near Silverthorne due to crashes and safety concerns, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Eastbound I-70 between exits 203 and 213 closed at 7 p.m. after multiple vehicles slid off the road.
Westbound I-70 closed between exits 221 and 218 after a muti-vehicle crash at 4:42 p.m., according to the Colorado State Patrol.
At least one person was struck by a vehicle while outside of their vehicle and taken to the hospital, said Trooper Gabriel Moltrer. There were also multiple vehicles that slid off the road, including a commercial motor vehicle that was stuck inside the crash area, according to the agency.
There is no estimated time of reopening.
