On a new episode of The Kardashians, Tristan Thompson opened up about why he constantly cheated on Khloe Kardashian. The basketball star was confronted by her sister, Kourtney, who wanted to get to the bottom of his behavior.
“I was just cheating for an action, just cheating for a feeling, but also it really came down to not knowing how to love, because that’s the way I grew up,” Thompson stated.
“What I saw from my dad, how he would treat my mom [the mother Andrea Thompson], as a kid when you see that, the trauma you have, because you can’t protect your mom because you’re so young and ’cause your mom tells you it’s going to be OK, you basically numb your emotions of being scared or feeling sad. It’s my form of a defense mechanism.”
Thompson also shared that he has been in therapy for the last two years.
Even though his reasoning may be honest, he’s still a trash human being. According to Tristan Thompson’s ex, Jordan Craig, the athlete is very far behind on child support payments. In fact, Craig claims that the total he owes for their 6-year-old son, Prince, is almost a quarter of a million dollars.
In documents obtained by the Daily Mail, Craig, 32, filed a declaration in a Los Angeles court that states Thompson was making “either partial payments or missing child support payments altogether.”
She says that the NBA star has been delinquent since November of last year.
In addition to cheating on Kardashian when she was pregnant, he also kissed Kylie Jenner’s friend Jordyn Woods and then had a baby with Maralee Nichols— all while being romantically involved with Khloe.
Last month, [Jordan Craig’s sister] Kai Cyre called out Thompson for being a deadbeat dad after Kim Kardashian praised his parenting skills as well as his character in an episode of The Kardashians.
“It has been so hard to refrain from speaking up, and out of respect for my sister’s privacy I haven’t for over seven years, but this is just too much,’ Cyre said.
“The fact that he can take other children to school and activities in the same city, he never sees, or speaks to his own son, unless it’s for a party or planned photo opportunity, is appalling and inexcusable.”
Without changed behavior, Thompson’s words are meaningless.
