Captain Marvel and her ginger Flerken ally are back to slay bad guys and keep things safe in the universe. This time around, Carol Danvers has to confront her old enemies the Kree, now led by Dar-Benn.
The superhero can count on the help of two allies, but the hook is that they’re entangled via their powers. Captain Marvel joins forces with her best friend’s daughter, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau, and teenage Kamala Khan aka Ms Marvel. The trio is, of course, assisted by Nick Fury.
The Marvels will be loaded to the brim with adventure and humour, but MCU fans will still be wondering if the filmmakers have tucked away any additional material at the end of the film. We decided to look into the matter.
Is there a post-credits scene in The Marvels?
Yes! In the new MCU film, the creators have hidden an additional scene. You’ll find it right after the stylised credits featuring the stars’ names.
What happens in The Marvels’ post-credit scene?
Spoilers for The Marvels below.
Many viewers probably wonder if it’s worth staying in the cinema a little longer to watch the additional scene. The answer is definitely yes! The extra material is not only surprising but also crucial for developing the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Below, you will find a description and explanation of The Marvels post-credits scene.

Marvel Studios
The main villain in the new MCU film, Dar-Benn (Zawe Ashton), creates a hole in space-time. In the film’s finale, Monica Rambeau tries to fix the damage, but it turns out that it can only be done from the other side of the rift. Monica closes the wormhole and becomes trapped in an unknown dimension on the other side.
In the post-credits scene, the astronaut wakes up in a sterile laboratory and sees her mother, Maria (Lashana Lynch), covered with a blanket. However, the woman doesn’t recognise her daughter.
As if that weren’t enough, Monica’s doctor enters the room… and he turns out to be Hank McCoy, AKA Beast (Kelsey Grammer), well-known to all viewers of the X-Men film series. He informs Monica that she is in a parallel dimension where mutants exist.
At the end of the scene, when Maria stands up and removes the blanket, it turns out she is wearing a red and white superhero suit.
What does The Marvels’ post-credit scene mean?
What does all this mean? Well, mutants have officially made their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Placing them in a parallel universe explains why the X-Men haven’t appeared in MCU films until now.
Kelsey Grammer portrayed Beast in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand and 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. The younger version of the superhero was played by Nicholas Hoult, who appeared in the latest films of the mutant series.
Maria Rambeau’s red and white costume suggests she will be a superhero known as Binary, who in the comics is an alternative version of Carol Danvers.
We may learn more about Monica’s adventures in 2024, thanks to Deadpool 3, which is set to take place in an alternative Marvel reality.
Is there a second post-credits scene in The Marvels?
No. However, at the end of the credit list, you will find an Easter egg: Flerken’s meow and its tentacles wrapping around the Marvel Studios logo.
