*Kevin Hunter, Wendy Williams‘ ex-husband, was ordered to pay a massive sum after ignoring a lawsuit related to a credit card bill.
According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, Hunter obtained a Visa Signature card from UBS Bank USA in 2014 and made timely payments until he stopped. The lawsuit states that he refused to pay the amount charged to his card. UBS notified him of his default in January 2023.
“Despite UBS Bank’s demand, [Hunter] has failed and refuses to pay the outstanding Account Balance,” the suit claimed.
As RaderOnline reports, Hunter was accused of owing $20,176.83 as of March 2023.
“Defendant has failed to make the minimum monthly payments by the payment due date, as required by the Cardmember Agreement,” the suit read.
A Florida judge recently ordered Hunter to pay $20,176.83 in a default judgment brought by UBS Bank USA. According to Radar, the amount will grow with interest until he pays it off.
It seems money has been tight for Hunter following his split from his ex-wife, Wendy Williams.
The former talk show host was ordered to pay Hunter monthly alimony as part of their divorce settlement. Hunter claims the checks stopped coming in early 2022 amid Williams’ battle with Wells Fargo over her frozen accounts. The Sun reported that he has been unsuccessful in his attempt to have the alimony issue heard in court.
Most recently, Hunter scored a significant win in his legal battle action against Debmar-Mercury, the producers of “The Wendy Williams Show.”
We reported previously that Hunter is suing the production company’s founders, Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus, for wrongful termination. He was fired from his executive producer position on Wendy’s daytime talk show in 2019 after reports that he fathered a child with his mistress. When Williams filed for divorce, Hunter said his employment status immediately changed.
Hunter claims he was fired based on his marital status, which the New York City Human Rights Law bars.
A New York federal judge recently ruled against Debmar-Mercury’s attempt to dismiss his lawsuit.
