Police are searching for a possibly armed suspect who fled to Arvada after a shooting in Westminster, officials said Sunday.
At 11:03 a.m. Sunday, Arvada police asked city residents in the area of West 63rd Avenue and Estes Street to remain inside while officers searched for a possibly armed suspect.
Two hours later, at about 2:15 p.m., the Arvada and Westminster police departments confirmed in a tweet that the suspect is related to a shooting that occurred in Westminster earlier Sunday and warned residents to continue sheltering in place.
This incident is related to a shooting earlier today on the 9800 block of Westcliff Pkwy in Westminster. We believe the suspect may be in an apartment on 62nd Ave between Estes and Dover. Still advising nearby residents to shelter in place.
